Gendered Speech Styles at Oral Argument


General sociological research finds that women tend to use more positive interruptions and keep discussion on track in deliberative environments. This project seeks to determine whether women judges follow this pattern by analyzing positive and negative interruption behavior on the courts as well as topic modeling.
